A Poem of Survival by James Youngs

We are uprooted from our place of slumber
And we live from day to day
Just using what we have
But we survive

No food or money of our own
No place to call a home
We have only our friends
But we survive

Times are hard and cruel
People look away as they pass
Many only guess why we are here
But we survive

We survive against it all
Because we all know
That tomorrow will come
And that is why we survive

beautiful poem James, and it is very true. The Homeless are true humans learning how to survive in the most honest.

So far, in these last 2 months, i have heard of 4 homeless people dying. it is an unspoken tragedy every time it happens and it is ignored or forgotten.

By getting to know people we give them a reason to live. By caring about people we give them a reason to care. Who we are and what we do are the difference between someone really living and someone just waiting to die.

For anyone reading this, what you do to love the people around you is a responsibility that should be taken seriously. I hope to meet you one day.
